Yugioh can you skip battle phase

Or sign in with one of these services. Rulings and Organized Play. Since my recent revival of interest in keeping up with ygo, I've become quite skeptical of my knowledge of some of the game mechanics I thought I'd figured out via intuition many years ago.

Today's mystery is how skipping the Battle Phase works. Does Frozen Soul skip the next attempt to enter the Battle Phase, or the next situation in which an attempt would have otherwise been possible?

A very old, unofficial ruling on Frozen Soul implies this is not possible, but I assume this situation has come up many times in recent events.

Again, it seems to depend on what skipping the Battle Phase mechanically means. The Battle Phase may be skipped unless a "must attack" condition ie. Karakuri, Battle Mania exists on the field. Without these particular conditions, the turn player elects to move from Main Phase 1 directly to End Phase. Main Phase 2 may only be entered after concluding the Battle Phase. Thanks for the response. As a follow up, what actually happens when you attempt to enter a skipped Battle Phase?

Does it automatically proceed to the End Phase? I'm a little more unsure regarding skipping Battle Phases, but Timeater's ruling seems to give some insight regarding it. Can you enter battle phase without monsters? What can you activate during the battle phase? Does attacking directly count as battling? Is damage calculation after damage step? Can you go from Main Phase 1 to end phase? Damage has already been calculated and the monsters have already considered to have battled. A Battle Phase can be conducted every turn except the first turn of the Duel after the turn player ends their Main Phase 1.

The battle positions of the Xyz Materials do not matter, as long as they are all face-up. However, once you have Xyz Summoned your Xyz Monster, ensure that the entire stack is neatly aligned in face-up Attack Position, regardless of which Battle position the Xyz Monster is currently in.

Link Monsters can only exist in face-up Attack Position they do not have a DEF value and cannot be placed in or changed to Defense Position either manually or through a card effect.
