Horrible place to work! Benefits were terrible, the work environment felt uncomfortable. Management is run by a family and controls everything. They never appreciate anything you do. The technology is very old and they do not do anything new or innovative. Hours are bad I had to work every other weekend because the place is so badly understaffed. Driver managers blame the load planners for you not getting loads that have miles. When they fire you they, the load planners reduce your assigned miles and then claim poor performance with the managers. But over all I do not recommend this company as they caused many problems just to turn over senior drivers to quit for cheaper trainee drivers.

Only had 1 manager ever be honest to me out of the 6 i delt with. This could be a great company but the management has no clue when it comes to real issues employees encounter, most had no clue about what the employees job tasks actually were or how they were performed. I worked for stevens about 3 years ago. They had a good training program and had a clear direction at hand which is very important with trucking companies. A leasing program does exist and drivers are strongly encouraged to join the leasing program as an independent contractor. Stevens Transport only operates 53ft temperature controlled trailers. While they do have a limited number of dedicated and regional opportunities, the majority of drivers remain in the OTR division while with Stevens.
