Although every 3 days wasn't ideal it was MUCH better than what we were dealing with in the past with the painful, large bowel movements or having to give her enemas when she just simply couldn't pass waste on her own.
We give her 3 fiber gummies a day without fail and she now "goes" every single day and I'm satisfied with the quantity and quality of her "output". I don't mean to be too graphic, but it is what it is, but her movements are soft and painless and regular and that's the all we ever hoped for. This is a great product that will be a staple in our household for sure.
My 3 year old daughter was experiencing severe constipation, due to a fear of pooping that she developed during potty training. We didn't push potty training at all, but when the opportunity to 'poop on the potty' became available to her, she decided she didn't want to go in her diaper any more, yet she didn't want to do it in the toilet either, which led to withholding, which leads to constipation and painful poops, which leads to more fear, and on and on with the vicious cycle.
She was regularly going 4 or 5 days without a movement, up to 9 days once. It was awful, and we were trying everything we could, including diet changes, Miralax, offering rewards, etc. I did some research and read about these vitamins, and decided to give them a try. Within 2 days, my daughter started having DAILY movements, which were not painful, and we have never looked back.
I don't often post reviews, but had to for this product in case it will help others with the same issue. One note is that I found 3 per day max dose recommended seemed to be a bit too much, so I cut back to 2 and that seems to be perfect for her, so you may need to tweak the dose to find out what works best for you.
My 3 year old drinks a lot of fluid and never really had constipation problem. But once she started to go to the the babysitter's, she started to have a hard time with BM.
I think maybe it was because she was too busy playing with other kids she's our only child that she forgets to drink her fluids or her drink wasn't as easily accessible. She feared going BM in the potty and would go in her underwear. I got her this Pedia-Lax and started giving it to her 3 times a day like it says on the bottle, and it took a few days to kick in. But then it got to be too much and made her BM runny.
She now gets a day and that keeps her BM normal and regulated. I even give it as a reward after she goes BM in the potty. I have to keep them up high on a shelf so she won't get to them. I bought these on the recommendation of our pediatrician. Even though most days my kids do well with eating a well balance meal, they still have had issues at times with constipation.
We eat two of these in the morning and one at night with dinner. I am pretty sure that the recommended dosage is up to 4 a day but we stick with three and they really do seem to help.
