What happens if i delete my temp folder
Manually cleaning out the Temp folder in Windows usually takes less than a minute but it could take longer depending on how large the collection of temporary files is. While temporary internet files can help you access websites faster, they take up a significant amount of space on your storage drive. By deleting these files, you can regain valuable storage space. Deleting those files means you will have to download things again, so keep that in mind.
The raw files from your camera, though, may be something you want to keep. Residual Files are files that were useful, but not anymore.
Wipe them unless you are planning to re-install the app they belong to. These temporary files can reduce the performance of the system. But if you're doing regular backups, as you should, they will take longer than they need to. If the folder has enough files in it, Windows can actually run slower and Excel may be unstable.
Finally, the temporary files may include copies of sensitive documents, which would be compromised if your computer is attached by malware or is lost or stolen. Each program should delete all its temporary files when it closes, but for various reasons it doesn't always happen for example, if the program crashes, it never gets to do this. That's why it's a good idea to periodically clean out anything left there.
Also note that there are some program installations which work in two steps. The first step concludes by writing temporary files and rebooting. The second step starts automatically after rebooting and needs to find those files there and then deletes them when it's done.
Other than doing it automatically when rebooting that would interfere with installations like the kind I described , it's always safe to delete the contents of the temp folder.
