Who is jyj signed to
Months after the Seoul Central District Court accepted that request, in , the three formed a new band, "JYJ," and signed a management contract with C-Jes Entertainment, a minor company. They have since engaged in a legal battle to negate their contract with their former management agency, raising awareness of local industry customs of forcing unfair management contracts on new faces in return for helping them become top celebrities.
Yonhap News. Despite worrying figures, Korea says return to social distancing not on the table. Nat'l Assembly votes to repeal decade-old anti-online gaming rule for minors. NMK aims to finish classifying, examining Lee Kun-hee donations by Ministry says will strictly handle alleged hit-and-run involving US diplomat. They won the case, and the court put AVEX on notice. They no longer have any say over the careers of JYJ.
Companies in Japan will know what to do. I know some people are screaming JE right now. I am so happy for JYJ!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope they sign with a great company and make an amazing comeback in Japan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is SUCH good news. The Japanese fans have been wonderful, waiting for them all of this time. I still find it hard to fathom why it is OK with Koreans for the ban to continue to be enforced and nothing is done by anyone to insist that it end now.
I am so happy for them, and so relieved at the same time. I hope they sign with a strong label that knows how to promote them and produce for them, gives them enough artistic freedom, and most importantly, treats them fairly. What a great news.. I really love their Japanese songs.. Hope they can sign with a good label.. JYJ ganbatte!!! Then can we have inter-company showdown? Sure, it cost the guys in one respect, but overall, notice was served.
We are no longer chattel to have others tell us what to do, how to do it, when to do it…. When the guys do sign, it will be with a company that understands where JYJ is coming from. They are the captains of their own ship, the masters of their own fate. They are free men. Yes, I can imagine your entire scenario. They knew from the beginning who and what they were dealing with. The only major hold they had over them from the start was their eagerness to hit the lights!
But they grew. They used their inate talents and skills to their advantages. From that overly simple argument about IQs being the determining factor of why who did what. As long as one has a functiong brain, and you put those brain cells to good use, you will find a way. These people are no dummies either. So, when the guys work with these people, they learn from them. So yes, others who come to the table to deal with them, beware.
No slow wits here who you can take advantage of. They are also surrounded by an awesome team. So, take them lightly at your own peril.
I thought for a Korean group to win a lawsuit against a Japanese company in Japan would be very difficult especially with the conflicts between Japan and Korea. JYJ must have won this case by their incredible charity and love for Japan.
To me it is even a bigger victory than just the entertainment and career issue. They are so popular in Japan because they are such incredible people. The average Korean probably has no idea what treasures they have and why JYJ is so popular worldwide. JYJ had no legal obligation to sign a new, disadvantageous contract shortly after signing their original. AVEX totally failed to provide the services they were legally contracted to do in order to punish JYJ for not signing the new contract.
JYJ did all the activities they were contracted to do. It was actually pretty cut and dried. I would have been surprised, frankly, if JYJ had lost. The court is not like these two wantonly duplicitous, supremely self-entitled companies. There are rules, procedures and facts are checked. Butting in here. Looking at that info in the article above. This thought just crossed my mine. From what we saw in the translation, they knew about the suspension as early as the Thanksgiving concerts, before a-Nation.
Well now, I think we can probably use this as a benchmark for what SM settled for 7 years…want to speculate? What say you my VE Sister? And court costs. Mind you, this would have been the starting point on the negotiations lo those many months ago.
I think it would have HAD to be at least 10 million dollars though. Making more of that is a foregone conclusion with these guys. They can make money in their sleep at this point. Recently I had 2 friends over, one is native American and the other not. The other one was telling the N Am one that the Indian reservations in US are protected by contracts, so nobody can do anything against them. My N Am friend laughed because their whole history has been one of having the contracts ignored and land taken away from them.
This is the kind of context I was talking about. The law being enforced properly is dependent on the people involved. Korea and Japan were enemies at one point. But the recent island controversy has brought back some old feelings. I really worried that this would prevent a fair trial in Japan.
Last year Apple and Samsung had a patent dispute in US. Apple won. A few weeks later in another country Samsung won the same dispute. You are surely correct that Avex was completely ridiculously in the wrong.
I think that must have had an impact on the court being able to see with a fair eye. Thanks for your thoughtful comments. The Japanese trial was so straight-forward compared say to the one in Korea. There were rulings and delays in the Korean trial that just left me and a lot of others here shaking our heads in disbelief. But the last hurdle for us is still unrestricted access to media.
This is really great news! Hope they will find and choose one carefully. All the fans are waiting for JYJ new Japanese songs.
Really missed them talking and singing in Japanese language. J-fans must be so excited!! Same for us, the I-fans! JYJ does not need a huge company in Japan since they already established a huge fan base there. They need some companies just like c-jes who listens to their needs and willing to work for JYJ. Without any major promotions in 3 years, yet everything JYJ involved got a huge success.
That tells all. At the moment, I strongly feel that it will be PonyC. This is what they need right now. They need powerful allies who will protect them so they can, with a free, unfettered mind unhampered by worry, go about the business of creating memorable music.
